The Story
Mallorca's northwest coast, where the Serra de Tramuntana mountains drop straight into the Mediterranean, is home to some of the island's most atmospheric villages: Deià, with its stone houses and Cala Deià below; Sóller, with its modernist architecture, cafés, and Saturday market, reachable by the historic wooden train from Palma and a nostalgic tram down to Port de Sóller; and Valldemossa along the same coastal road. The stretch between Port de Sóller and Cap de Formentor is widely considered the island's most dramatic, with hairpin roads, ancient olive groves, and hidden coves.
This shoot moves between that coastline and the villas and countryside just inland — the particular quality of light that draws travelers, artists, and photographers to this part of the Mediterranean season after season. It's part of a broader body of European travel and villa work that includes Lake Como and the Amalfi Coast.
